Terminator: Dark Fate T-800 Statue
The Brief
Create a Terminator statue based off of the new film that isn’t released yet. You only get to use a few unfinished shots of Arnold that were shown in the panel presentation from San Diego Comic Con and a few continuity assets from the studio as your reference. That is pretty much what we had to go on.
My role in the project was to coordinate the efforts of the development team. Help to decipher how the T-800’s battle damage will look like at the climatic end of the film without seeing the final scene from the film. I also coordinated the marketing copy and photographed the solicitation images for the project.

Work In Progress
The development team really had their work cut out for them on this one. The mix of organic and mechanical parts were going to look amazing. A real challenge came from getting the delicate mechanical parts to print thick enough to look correct but be sturdy enough to survive the prototyping process. We also learned that bullet holes in the fabric parts didn’t exactly translate the way we originally expected them to in the printing process.
A Sci-fi Icon
Metal parts, burnt flesh, gore, fabrics, rubble, an aging Hollywood legend. The Chronicle team came together to create a magnificent tribute to one of science fictions most famous characters. It stands at just over 18 inches tall.

This statue certainly isn’t for the squeamish.
